Unveiling Clipper 70
In January 2013, over 3,000 people attended a full week of events at St Katharine Docks, London. My friends and I were among them!
The purpose of the events was to unveil the first of the fleet of brand-new Clipper 70s which will be used in the 13-14 race. On Saturday 19th I was booked on to a crew briefing which I would attend and then see the new boat.
I couldn’t wait that long. With the promise of drinks and some food in the nearby Dickens Inn, I dragged a couple of friends around it on the preceding Tuesday after work. They were very patient, waiting for me long after they had seen all they wanted to see. I was still exploring, comparing what I saw to the Clipper 68 on which I had done my one week of training so far, and chatting to one of the training mates.
I had my phone but had forgotten to take my camera to work that morning, so I took what photos I could with that.
